Frascole

One of the six sub-zones of Chianti, Chianti Rufina is just east of Florence sitting on the slopes of the Apennine Mountains. Vineyards are high, some climbing to 500 meters (1,640 feet). Cool autumn nights allow the wines to retain good acidity. Limited production, as there are only 23 producers in Chianti Rufina.

Frascole is located in Dicomano (north-east of Florence), this family farm produces about 65,000 bottles yearly with 16 hectares planted with vines. An additional 9 hectares are planted with olive trees producing some of the best olive oil in the region.

The flagship wines are the Chianti Rufina and the Chianti Rufina Riserva. Since 1998, the entire estate follows organic agricultural methods.
