What to Make of the 2014 Vintage in Italy
Now that most of the 2014’s in Italy have been in the market, what do you think of the vintage? 2014 is known as a very challenging vintage, with weather complications during most of the growing season. Depending on the region, we saw wet and warm winter, early spring hail, and rainy and cool summer. Fortunately, in most regions, September and October weather returned to more normal-like conditions. Early on, the journalists and so-called experts seeded everyone’s mind that this was one of the worst vintages of the 2000’s. Some regions fared better than others, but overall, what do you think?
