Tenuta Monteti

In 1998, Paolo Baratta and Gemma Bracco found the ideal conditions for pursuing their dream of creating a wine with personality and elegance, located between the Mediterranean Sea and the woods of Maremma in the Tuscany region. Monteti is named after the hill that protects the south / southwest exposure vineyards from the strong Mediterranean winds. Only IGT wines are made, two reds, Caburnio and Monteti, and a Rose’.

SUSTAINABILITY: Monteti has obtained the V.I.V.A. Sustainable Wine Certification by the Italian Ministry for Environment.

Carlo Ferrini, one of Italy’s greatest and most respected winemakers, serves as a consultant for Tenuta Monteti.

Soil/Geography

The soil has a complex, stony structure on a clay substrate, which guarantees good drainage, maintaining freshness and humidity deep down. Monteti hill defends the vineyards from the winds that blow in from the Mediterranean, creating an ideal microclimate thanks to which the vines can benefit, protected, from the sea proximity.
